"Look! Up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane . . . it's a hot chick!" That's Helen Slater, who got to wear the blue and red leotard as Supergirl (1984). The film may have been a failure at the box office, but what an introduction to such a sexy lady. The visibility she received from her debut splash scored her some ripe roles in über-'80s hits, most notably The Secret of My Success (1987), Ruthless People, and The Legend of Billie Jean (1985), in which she played the title role of the down-home martyr opposite Christian Slater (no relation). She also appeared in City Slickers (1991) and the ill-fated Lloyd Bridges journalism TV drama Capital News. Thankfully a downward turn in Helen's career brought about some skin flashitude. Check out Happy Together (1988) for her brief debut breast shot. For a more satisfying gander at Helen's Supergirls, see A House in the Hills (1993), in which she appeared more or less nude for about half of the movie. That's a house that's built to move.
